Best Beauty Instagrams of the Week: SZA, Janaya Future Khan, and More

This past week on Instagram was filled with self-care, de-stressing workouts, and new year reflections.

Amid turbulent times, this past week on Instagram was filled with inspiring reminders to take care of ourselves in the new year and beyond. For starters, rapper and singer Tink showed us her yoga routine and shared her wishes for the year to come, which consisted of peace and more positive energy. Meanwhile, soulful musician Shay Lia shared a challenging lower-body workout that's perfect to do pretty much anywhere.

A few muses made self-love a priority with a little mood-enhancing glam. When it came to eyeshadow, model Imani Randolph came through with a cotton candy-pink hue on her lids, while Duckie Thot felt a smoky lid would pair nicely with her sleek bob. On the hair front, SZA and Amandla Stenberg rocked gorgeous afros, while Guido Palau showed off his sculpting skills on model Nyja Abdullah. As for Hantise de L'Oubli? She inspired followers not only with her sunset-hued shadow, but also the honest reflections in her caption. “I spent weeks questioning whether I deserved a platform, friends, love... to be cared about at all," she wrote. "I also struggled to share any of it with anyone…I reserve the right for myself to regenerate as many times as necessary."

Celebrating her body just as it is, model Neelam Kaur Gill wrote an inspiring ode to her stretch marks. “Please don’t allow society or social media to make you feel less than," she said. "You are unique. You are beautiful. You are brilliant." Then, a glistening Lizzo serenaded followers with “Georgia On My Mind," to remind Georgians of the importance of getting out to vote for the U.S. Senate runoff elections, while Janaya Future Khan made time for nature and reflection, sharing an empowering sentiment: “Remember there is beauty," they wrote. "You are beautiful… our strength will not be determined by how much suffering we endure.” Finally, Abena Boamah, founder of Hanahana Beauty, was all glow and smiles as she looked back on some of her lessons of 2020, offering a great reminder for us all: “If there is one thing I learned in 2020... it’s that anything is possible, good, bad, [and] in-between, so all I can do is my best.”
