From Gucci Lipstick to $90 Nike Sneakers, 22 Items Vogue Editors Purchased (and Loved) in October

See what else we gladly added to our shopping carts.

As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves and home-decor treasures, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets and homes. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all these cool things to buy, what did we actually end up buying? Each month we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that gave us buyer’s rejoice.

After a hectic September, October proved to be a month of relaxation and getting back to the basics for Vogue editors. Not just any old basics, of course. Many of my colleagues stocked up on delightful beauty and fashion essentials designed to elevate even the most mundane moments.

One editor couldn’t help but to treat herself to a luxurious pajama set—because there’s no chicer way to lounge on the couch re-watching Hocus Pocus or binging Squid Games. While another unearthed the perfect red-red lipstick created by Gucci—definitely an easy way to zhuzh up those cozy fall outfits or all of those pending Zoom meetings.

The quieter month also gave some of us a chance to escape New York City. Of course, my colleagues didn’t leave home without some of their favorite travel-ready shopping finds. I still can’t believe these comfy-chic Nike sneakers one Vogue editor discovered are still in stock, especially since they’re less than $100.

If you move quickly, you’ll find those and more cool things to buy below.

I recently vacationed in the South of France this October, and prior to the trip, I searched for the perfect pair of walking shoes I could bring that would be both comfortable, while keeping my style on point. I settled on these Nike Daybreak sneakers in black that paired seamlessly with my cigarette trousers as they did with my a-line dresses. Highly recommend adding them to your cart for any upcoming holiday travels this year.

After over an hour spent at a Sephora, swiping up variations of red red lipsticks on the back of my hand, I finally found the perfect shade of red. I paid no attention to the brand; my only criteria being that the winning mark on my body (I ended up on both hands and then moved up my wrist) contained no trace of a blueish purpley undertone. I was looking for a scarlet red, red like a poppy flower, not a pomegranate seed. At last, I landed on Gucci’s Rouge à Lèvres Satin lipstick in 500 Odalie Red. It’s the absolute perfect shade of red for my pale pinkish complexion, and I haven’t wanted to wear anything else since it’s come into my life. I’ve even had random IG messages asking me to ID the shade!

This month, I flew across the pond and then back across the country. While traveling on planes, trains, and automobiles, I knew I needed a wallet that was easy to find and functional. I found this vibrant Comme Des Garçons check-zip wallet that does the trick with flying colors.

Truth be told, I have a lot of pajamas in my arsenal, but of all the pairs, I have grown obsessed with my Cosabella pajamas most of all. Honestly, it’s gotten to the point where I look forward to the end of the day when I can partake in my evening ritual of a long, hot shower and slipping into these pajamas. They exceed the concept of comfort—the fabric is like butter and the silhouette is the ideal not-too-loose, not-too-tight fit. The only catch is I have had only one pair. With the weather getting a bit chillier and a pair of cozy PJs feeling more necessary than ever, I just re-upped on another set and truly couldn’t be happier.

I bought a few things! I am heavily influenced by my colleagues at Condé Nast when it comes to purchasing decisions. I was eyeing this Proenza Schouler knit dress all season and finally bought it after seeing Architectural Digest EIC Amy Astley wearing it at a recent Teen Vogue event. Amy is someone I have always looked up to style-wise and seeing her in it got me to finally hit check out on Farfetch (the sale price was helpful, too!).
