How Ana de Armas Got Ready for the ‘No Time to Die’ Premiere
“We’ve been waiting for this day for such a long time,” Ana de Armas, one of the resident Bond women in No Time to Die, tells me ahead of the film’s world premiere in London. “It’s so exciting to celebrate safely with everyone and finally share this movie with the world!” Like many events, the unveiling of the latest James Bond film (and Daniel Craig’s final outing as the spy) was postponed due to the pandemic, but the red carpet was finally rolled out for the glitzy event on September 28th, which saw everyone from the Duchess of Cambridge to Naomie Harris covered in sequins for the occasion.
De Armas, who is an Estée Lauder ambassador, didn’t scrimp on the shimmer and shine either, wearing a plunging gown by Louis Vuitton with custom-beaded chain straps. “I feel so lucky to be wearing this beautiful velvet gown they made for me—the detailing on the straps is truly incredible and I’m also wearing gorgeous Chopard jewels, which makes the evening extra special.”
Makeup artist Melanie Inglessis created the “effortless and chic” beauty look—think a soft smoky eye and nude lip—that paired so well with Ana’s sleek ensemble. “We always have a lot of fun,” says Inglessis of their glam routine. “We play lots of Cuban music and Ana dances! Today she also requested to listen to Lauryn Hill. She enjoys the ritual of getting ready with the girls, having fun to feel relaxed. She’s been waiting for this premiere for two years now, so today was really a celebration.”
