Miley Cyrus Is On Board With the Punk Rock Ponytail
Miley Cyrus was Saturday Night Live’s musical guest last night, and she debuted a number of striking looks for the occasion, all of which play into her signature rock and roll style. Performing “Plastic Hearts” and “Without You,” Cyrus took to the stage in a new hair style as well: She switched up her shaggy mullet in favor of a new look, the punk rock ponytail.
Cyrus first debuted her new hairstyle when heading into the SNL studios yesterday: The majority of her mane was pulled into a pony while at the crown, her blonde locks were twisted and blow-dried to fauxhawk effect. The end result was a hybrid style that’s both polished, yet totally cool.
Now, given Cyrus was seen rocking her shorter, choppy mullet just a day earlier, she likely had the help of a few strategic extensions to get the new look here—meaning anyone can do it. Consider it the next time you need to add some edge to your look—or, you know, when you’re rocking out on Saturday Night Live as the guest of honor. We can dream!
