The daughter of the late ‘Fast & Furious’ star Paul Walker opens up about her father’s crystal collection, her love of wellness technology, and how a new haircut has helped define her.
Model Meadow Walker on Beauty, Self-Care and the Story of Her Blunt Bob
When 22-year-old Meadow Walker opened the Fall 2021 Givenchy show earlier this year, she sent a ripple through the industry. Dressed in all black, her signature blunt bob accentuated with a streak of bleached blonde, here was a model new to the fashion world, who had the self-possession of someone who had been opening shows for years.
Eschewing traditional notions of beauty with her angular features and androgynous crop of jet-black hair, Walker’s presence on the runway felt fresh and exciting—a marked departure from the overtly feminine look that has been dominating the catwalks of late. Since then, Walker has starred in the lookbook for Proenza Schouler’s pre-spring 2022 collection and recently landed her first magazine cover.
Born in California, Walker spent her formative years in Hawaii where she lived with her father, Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker, who died in a tragic car accident in 2013. As a child, she developed a strong connection with the ocean and today she continues the charitable work of her father through The Paul Walker Foundation—an organization dedicated to conservation and research that offers scholarships to aspiring marine biologists. She also works closely with activist Soma Sara, who runs Everyone’s Invited, a U.K.-based movement committed to exposing rape culture.
Based in New York, Walker spent the weekend in Los Angeles for the world premiere of Fast & Furious 9 (also known as F9), where we had a moment to catch up with the rising star about her evolving relationship with beauty and inheriting her father’s approach to wellness.
