The Best Beauty Instagrams of the Week: Raveena, Arlo Parks, and More

This past week on Instagram was filled with spring hair inspiration, creative eye makeup, and important reminders to practice kindness.

This past week on Instagram, auburn-tinged strands served up much spring hair inspiration. British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks shared a glowing selfie with a citrus crop alongside the poems and visuals that have been filling her with joy lately. Similarly, Justine Skye rocked a curly tangerine-hued updo while dreaming of a vacation to Jamaica. “My backyard will do for now,” she wrote in her caption. Meanwhile, model and artist Torin Ashtun showed off a cascade of ginger butterfly locs, with a set of yellow butterfly hair accessories serving as a fitting embellishment. Adding more hair inspiration to the mix was Tracee Ellis Ross with her buoyant “cloud hair” and model-DJ Soo Joo Park, who sported her signature two-toned bleached hair with a set of face-framing braids.

Similarly, a lot of creativity was channeled into eye makeup. Model Roseline Lawrence made the case for electric blue liner, pairing it with bubble gum pink blush and her infectious smile; Imaan Hammam opted for thick kohl liner with a very sleek updo; and Barbie Ferreira embraced a smoky eye and a terra-cotta lipstick. For singer Raveena, it was all about the glow, and she shared a snap of herself basking in sunlight to ethereal effect.

Speaking out against anti-Asian violence and offering support for the AAPI community, Jeannie Park shared a powerful poem about breaking your silence, while Janaya Future Khan held a “Sunday Sermon” on grappling with “how to combat living in a country where the status quo defines our existence by denying our experience, our expertise, our reality.” Finally, Pharrell and Gabrielle Richardson spread the important message of kindness. “Sometimes people care a lot more about looking cool than being kind," wrote Richardson. “Life is complicated and scary, but also don’t take it too seriously and just do your best for yourself and others… Never forget to nurture your inner child in all the ways you can.”
