Spring is on our minds and in our online baskets, and fortunately, there are plenty of suitable new-in drops to fulfill our shopping desires…
33 Perfect Spring Buys From Mango, Free People and ASOS
There's just something about being plunged into the depths of winter (snow and all) that really makes me fed up with cold-weather clothing. How about you? This week, while bundled up in blankets, shearling slippers and beanie hats for our Zoom calls, the team has been edging ever closer to investing in new-season pieces rather than additional layers to protect us against the inclement weather. We've even gone so far as to dream about summer sandals trends and the joyful printed dresses we'll be aiming to wear ASAP. Spring is on our minds and in our online baskets, and fortunately, there are plenty of suitable new-in drops arriving to fulfil the virtual window shopping we've been doing a lot of.
But where's looking the best? Well, I know you'll always find some trusty pieces in Zara, H&M or & Other Stories, but there are a few other corners of the digital high street that are looking pretty strong too. I've noticed that Mango's offering (particularly when it comes to shoes and knits) feels very premium; Free People are nailing it for those of us who just want to jump headfirst into a bohemian summer adventure (even if it's in our back gardens, in February); and ASOS Design has just introduced a host of really pared-back, interesting staples like mink-coloured cardigans and slinky olive-green satin dresses.
Some of the items below are on the more pricey side of affordable, but many are quite reasonable considering their versatility and how expensive they look. Keep scrolling to see the best new spring bits from Mango, Free People and ASOS.
MANGO
Jessica Skye wearing a pair of cream trousers from Mango.
Mango Multicoloured Knitted Gilet (£30)I'm envisaging this with '70s flares and a neat, sharp-collared shirt.
Mango Fabric Contrast Bag (£36)The perfect little bag for summer walks and picnic days.
Mango Structured Suit Blazer (£70)Even if you're working from home, I'd say a loose-fitting trouser suit is still a solid spring buy.
Mango Pleat Straight Trousers (£50)The matching trousers would also look great with a chunky knit.
Mango Embossed Contrasting Knit Sweater (£50)And talking of chunky knits, how amazing is this?
Mango Leather Loafers With Chain (£60)Loafers are enjoying yet another moment in the sun, and those with chain detailing are particularly de riguer.
Mango Printed Ruched Dress (£60)It's the kind of subtle, vintage-looking dress that you'll get years and years of wear out of.
Mango Oversize Quilted Coat (£120)I'm SO ready to get out of my boring black puffer coat, but this is really quite special for bracing walks.
Mango High-Waist Balloon Jeans (£36)Ballon-leg jeans are the mid-point between super-baggy and uncomfortable straight-legs—that's probably why they're becoming more and more popular.
Mango Link Necklace (£18)Never met a chain necklace I didn't like, but this one is particularly unique.
Mango Heel Leather Sandals (£60)Because one day it will be hot again, and we will wear heels again. These will be my weapon of choice when the time comes.
FREE PEOPLE
Santina from @huesofwhite wearing a Free People dress.
Blank NYC Twist & Shout Vegan Shacket (£118)The coolest vegan suede jacket I've ever seen.
Intimately Around Me Cami (£32)I mean, it'd be lunacy to wear this right now, but it will be so beautiful during the warmer months.
Find Me Now Find Me Now Ruffled Shoulder Bag (£58)The kind of all-but-the-kitchen-sink tote bag that still manages to look fashion forward.
FP Beach Pacific Maxi Dress (£78)I'm not sure whether it's the location talking me into this or the retro collared neck, happy orange hue and bohemian ribbed jersery…
Free Peopl Denson Cable Vest (£64)Sweater-vests are continuing to trend, but I'm more of a fan when they're shrunken and neat like this one rather than oversized and heavy.
FP Beach Carter Sweater Set (£78)Add slippers and a big mug of tea, and you have yourself a perfect lounging ensemble.
Free People Gold Coast Knit Maxi Skirt (£88)This knit reminds me of a really old Celine collection, and that's why I keep coming back to it. Think it should be mine.
FP Collection Juno Footbed Mules (£88)Clogs are coming for our wardrobes, and I'm not mad about it at all.
FP Beach Ride or Die Jumper (£108)100% comfort and yet 100% cool too.
Free People All My Yesterdays Top (£88)This kind of delicate, balletic tie-up detailing is going to be everywhere for summer 2021—trust me.
Lack of Colour Holiday Bucket Hat (£98)Obsessed.
ASOS
Hannah Lewis wearing an ASOS trench coat.
ASOS Design Halter Detail Long Sleeve Top in Black (£16)The cut-out feature on this makes it look a lot more luxe than £16.
ASOS Design Sleeveless Satin Shoulder Pad Midi Dress (£35)I love how this is actually quite versatile: Layer with a roll-neck underneath and chunky boots for now.
ASOS Design Crew Neck Cardi (£22)Chic with jeans but also cute with a slip skirt.
ASOS Design Check Spliced Oversized Trench Coat in Stone (£75)A good trench never fails your wardrobe, especially during spring and autumn.
ASOS Design Long Sleeve Seersucker Gingham Top With Shirred Panel (£29)The comfiest statement top!
ASOS Design Mali Premium Leather Fisherman Flat Shoe in Black (£50)I'm all about fisherman sandals for summer, and I like that these have a little extra height for my 5'1'' frame.
ASOS Design Ruched Channel Puff Sleeve Cullotte Jumpsuit (£35)Add a straw hat and a punnet of lavender.
ASOS Edition Quilted Midi Dress in Cream (£95)A similar design from last year sold out very quickly, so I expect the same result on this beautiful midi.
ASOS Edition Floral Silver and White Sequin Co Ord (£75)Precisely what my cashmere knits have been calling out for…
ASOS Design Super Ruched Shoulder Bag in Snake (£20)Scrunchie bags are suddenly everywhere and I'm enjoying that dash of texture in an outfit.
ASOS Design Lulu Square Toe Mules in Shearling (£20)Shearling isn't just for the inside of your shoes. It's a trend for spring on the outside of both flats and heels.
Next up, the spring 2021 trends we're backing.
