During the depths of winter it’s hard to imagine wearing anything other than our favourite chunky knits, puffa coats and cosy tracksuits, isn’t it? But then this time of year comes around, the odd blue sky arrives and suddenly all we can think about is spring outfits. The ease of throw-on dresses, only needing a light jacket, pretty blouses to pair with jeans… OK, we might not be losing all our layers anytime soon but we’ve got to start somewhere.

Transitioning your wardrobe into spring can almost feel like a cleanse, especially this year when we’re all craving a little reset. Just a few new additions can revitalise tired pieces and lay the foundations for a more positive approach when it comes to putting together outfits.

So, where should you be starting with what to buy this spring in particular? Below, we’ve created a checklist of easy-to-wear transitional trends with one of our favourite low-key high street destinations, Anthropologie, to help answer that exact question. As well as their in-house designs, Anthropologie stock a whole host of contemporary brands, from fashion favourites like Faithfull and Sleeper to lesser-known names you’ll be glad to discover. The collection is vast, but there’s an ultra chic, relaxed vibe that runs through it all, the kind that makes you want to wear everything immediately.
