From green and pink to blue and cream, these are the colour pairings that will put a smile on your face this spring.
7 Colour Pairings That Will Put a Smile on Your Face This Spring
Earlier this week, Who What Wear's Emma Spedding hosted an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram stories, and more than any other, it was colour trends that came up as the most popular subject for the upcoming season. Perhaps it's because we're all craving a bit of brightness in our lives following the longest January on record (scientifically proven), or simply the fact that brands are offering such a wonderful array of shades in their spring/summer 2021 collections.
For some reason, the fact that I've spent the last two months decorating a new flat means that I feel even more attuned to colour combinations that usual, and have enjoyed experimenting with off-beat pairings alongside more classic looks. Sometimes partnering two hues that traditionally "shouldn't be seen," can be the secret to creating a high-end aesthetic, both in interiors and fashion. Case in point? I've seen so many fashion editors embracing oranges and lilacs this season. (Not exactly a look you would instinctively put together.)
If you're not sure where to start, I've put together a mood board of outfits and new season buys that all come in stylish and unexpected colour pairings. It's so easy to re-create, and who knows? You might even have one of these looks already sitting your wardrobe. Scroll down to see what I've bookmarked for spring.
