It will follow one of the Covey sisters' own quest for love.
A 'To All the Boys' Spin-Off TV Series Is Reportedly in Early Development at Netflix
Netflix is considering delving back into the To All the Boys I've Loved Before franchise.
According to a report from Deadline on March 31, a spin-off TV series starring Anna Cathcart, who played Lara Jean Covey's little sister, Kitty, in all three films, is in early development with the streaming service.
Awesomeness Productions and ACE Entertainment are working on a half-hour rom-com series following Kitty Song Covey's “quest to find true love.” Jenny Han, the author of the To All the Boys book series is set to create, write, and executive produce the series, while the pilot will be co-written by Siobhan Vivian. Netflix declined to comment on the series to Deadline.
Not only did Kitty kick off the entire TATB trilogy by sending her sister Lara Jean's secret love letters to all their recipients, she also formed her own love connection in the final film, To All the Boys: Always and Forever. As Lara Jean (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) road into the sunset—a.k.a college—Kitty hit it off with a boy from South Korea.
While there is no word on whether or not Condor or Centineo will appear in the series (college obviously gives the series a reason for their absence), Cathcart has spoken about their behind-the-scenes antics. “We were so comfortable with each other, and we'd always be making each other giggle, and always just having the best time,” she told Bustle in 2018, also revealing that she has a group chat going with Condor and Janel Parrish, who played the eldest Covey sister in the series.
"I really liked filming with the three sisters, of course. The fight—like the little run around the bed, fighting and stuff—was super fun when we were all arguing," Cathcart said. “It might not be fun to fight with your sisters in real life, but on a movie set, it turns out, it's way better.”
What I really want to know is if John Corbett will be reprising his role as daddy Dr. Covey.
