She even jumped on her bed in the look, too.
Amanda Seyfried Reinvents the Tuxedo at the Critics Choice Awards
At tonight’s Critics Choice Awards, Amanda Seyfried channelled an Old Hollywood classic—but not in the way you’re expecting. Instead of sporting a traditional gown, the Mank actor, who is nominated for best supporting actress, gave the classic tuxedo a dazzling evening feel. With the help of her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, Seyfried slipped into a Miu Miu sheer, tuxedo-style bib top that was embellished with sequins (down to the sequined bow tie). She paired it with Miu Miu’s classic black cigarette pants, black Stuart Weitzman heels, and Fred Leighton jewelry.
On Stewart’s Instagram, Seyfried jumped on a hotel bed in the outfit, playing up the ensemble’s lighthearted nature. Given that the standard red carpet is a no-go at the Critics Choice this year, it makes total sense that Seyfried would rebuke the normal gowns dress code and try out something fresh and different for the at-home event. It may not be something her character Marion Davies, a Hollywood legend, would select—but it’s just as diva-worthy, and perhaps more appropriate for a Zoom cameo.
