Beyoncé Delivers a Lesson in Party Dressing

Her Insta feed will inspire you to dress for the dancefloor

The 40th birthday celebrations haven’t ended yet for Beyoncé, who reached the milestone on September 4th. She dressed for the occasion in a striking Versace LBD, given a zesty twist with hot-pink platforms, an organza coat from The 2Nd Skin Co, a sparkling embellished clutch and crystallized Medusa travel cup.

Clearly still in the party mood, the star has been populating her Instagram feed with yet more high-octane glamour: she posed for a series of pictures—some alongside her husband Jay-Z— wearing figure-skimming dark indigo fitted jeans, a feather-embellished Valentino shirt, silvery metallic platforms from Aquazzura and a playful Judith Leiber bag in the shape of a martini glass. Bey gave the outfit the exposure it deserved, posting a trio of carousels comprising close-ups and full look shots.

Hat trick posts have become a habit for the singer, who rarely shares a single picture. Naturally, her birthday look was given the Bey treatment with an impromptu photoshoot that showcased her black dress and accessories from every angle.

High-octane glamour has been the former Vogue cover star’s go-to dress code for some time. In the pages of the British Vogue December 2020 issue, she wore a custom backless Christopher John Rogers look—complete with risqué shimmering diamanté detailing—pieces from her very-own Adidas X Ivy Park collection, a frou frou Oscar de la Renta cape, leather separates from Saint Laurent, a one-shoulder lace Tom Ford gown, a sculptural Fendi dress, a tangy feathered robe from The Attico, a gown by Andres Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, and a dazzling Burberry bodysuit. And for her three cover shots, captured by Kennedi Carter, she wore an acid-yellow look courtesy of Adidas X Ivy Park, a striking sheer Mugler catsuit, and a sculptural Alexander McQueen blazer.
