No one wears Alessandra Rich’s clothes quite like Beyoncé. After wearing Rich’s designs for Valentine’s day, in her Black is King visual album, on the red carpet at the BET Awards, Beyoncé and her stylist, Zerina Akers have experimented with every incarnation of Rich’s evening wear. But yesterday, while enjoying a mother-daughter lunch with Blue Ivy, she deduced to give the brand’s casual fare a test drive.
While dining at the Malibu outpost of Nobu, Beyoncé opted for the quilted denim jacket and mini skirt combo from Rich’s fall/winter 2020 collection. Far from standard-issue jeans, the separates were embellished with crystal buttons and diamond stitching. Beyoncé amplified these luxurious details with the addition of Rich’s golden choker, pearl stud earrings, and waist-cinching chain belt.
Even off-duty Beyoncé likes to infuse her outfits with drama, and her version of double-denim was an enticing mix of statement pieces. She was buttoned up when she and Blue Ivy waltzed into the restaurant, but she gave her social media fans a glimpse at the outfit’s details, including the ribbed crop top she wore beneath her layers of blue jeans. With closeups of her Chanel camera bag, black and white bow pumps, and a magnificent citrine ring, Beyoncé took what could have been a low-key look and elevated it into a diva-worthy style moment that’s racked up five million likes and counting.
