Beyoncé's Nails Deserved Their Own Award at the Grammys

She wore them over her gloves, and Twitter was obsessed.

The Grammys 2021 have delivered way more on the style front than expected, given the smaller red carpet than usual. From Harry Styles' feather boa to Dua Lipa's Cher cosplay, there were tons of instantly iconic fashion moments. But one of the coolest looks of the night was a little more subtle: Beyonce's nail gloves.

That's right, the singer not only made history by breaking the record for the most Grammy wins by a woman, she did so in a pair of leather gloves with gold press-on nails on the outside of each finger tip. While it could have been an easy solution to not making it to the nail salon on time, this is Beyoncé we're talking about and everything—even her manicures—are intentional.

The avant-garde gloves were the perfect finishing touch to the rest of her Schiaparelli look, which included a mini dress, micro mini sunglasses, and giant sculptural earrings. She kept her makeup neutral, letting her fluffy curls and metallic nail gloves take center stage.

It should come as no surprise that the Bey Hive was living for the nail gloves. “Can we just take a moment to appreciate that not only do #Beyonce's leather gloves have gold nails, but she can wear a face mask with no straps? Does it just know better than to fall off of her face?!?" one user tweeted.

One clever twitter user noticed that this isn't the first time Bey has worn nails over her gloves. Here she is wearing diamond-encrusted nail gloves last January to the Golden Globes.

While no one else was quite in the same stratosphere as nail gloves, the beauty looks on the Grammys 2021 red carpet were all about the nails (and the glitter eyeshadow), since face masks covered up most makeup real estate.

Billie Eilish matched her signature long nails to her outfit, while Dua Lipa's butterfly mani mirrored her Versace dress. Taylor Swift's moonlit manicure was downright enchanting during her performance, and Lizzo was pretty in pink.
