'Bridgerton' Star Regé-Jean Page Is Hosting Saturday Night Live Next Week
You, dear reader, are in for a huge treat: Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page will be crossing the pond to host Saturday Night Live on February 20.
“Next week!!!” the official SNL account posted to Twitter on February 14 to announce that Page will host the sketch-comedy show alongside musical guest Bad Bunny. “I will certainly be tuning in,” the official Bridgerton account tweeted. “After all, this author certainly enjoys a spectacle…"

Do you know who else enjoys a spectacle? Fans of the steamy Netflix series, which was recently nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards: one for ensemble cast in a drama series, and one specifically for Page, who was included in the “male actor in a drama series” category for his portrayal of the broody Duke of Hastings.
“I certainly will be waiting with anticipation," one user replied with a gif of the British actor, while another wondered how many times the cast of SNL will have him lick a spoon. IYKYK.

Bridgerton has undoubtedly been a massive hit for Netflix, which has already announced a second season is on its way. However, the next round of episodes will be less focused on the newly married Duke and Duchess of Hastings, and more on the surly Bridgerton Viscount, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey).

“We left Anthony Bridgerton at the end of the first season at a bit of a crossroads,” showrunner Chris Van Dusen recently said on Today With Hoda & Jenna, “So I’m looking forward to jumping in and see how he fares in the marriage market.” Still, Van Dusen promises Pheobe Dynevor's Daphne and Page's Simon “will always be Bridgertons and always be a part of the show.”
Unfortunately, given COVID-19 restrictions as well as Bridgerton's particularly lengthy film schedule, we likely won't be seeing new episodes until 2022. Hopefully, this Saturday Night Live episode will help hold us over.
