Britney Spears Is Focused on 'Healing' Now That Her Father Is Off Her Conservatorship
Now that Britney Spears is free of her father's control over her conservatorship, it's time to commence the healing process.
On October 2, Britney took to Instagram to share a reflection over the changes in her life—presumably her recent engagement and the court's ruling to suspend Jamie Spears as conservator of her estate—and think about the future.
“Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do,” the pop star shared on Instagram alongside an image of a tree growing through what appears to be a hole in a ceiling. “Thankfully I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it’s ok to slow down and breathe 🧘♀️ !!!!! Only through self-love I can pray … love … and support others in return!!!!”
On September 29, Spears won her biggest victory yet in the fight against her 13-year conservatorship. Per Variety, Judge Brenda Penny ruled to remove Britney's father as conservator and temporarily replacing him with accountant John Zabel. Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart says the conservatorship should be terminated altogether by end of the year and suggested a termination hearing within 45 days.

Shortly following the ruling, Britney Spears posted a series of nude photos on Instagram from vacation with her fiancé, Sam Asghari. “Playing in the Pacific never hurt anybody 😉💋🙊,” she wrote alongside the snaps. In what may be a nod to the #FreeBritney movement—or not—Ashghari commented, “#freethenipple 😂.”
The pair have been living their lives to the fullest since he popped the question earlier this month. Britney announced the news on Instagram on September 12. “I can’t fucking believe it,” Spears wrote on Instagram alongside several ring emojis.
“He’s ready for marriage and kids with Britney and is serious about the relationship. She wants to take that next step and have that full life with him,” a source told People about Asghari. “As a couple, they’ve hidden how they’ve really felt even from people close to them because they were anxious and scared, but now it’s all out there.”
