Britney Spears Responds to Concerns She Didn’t Post Her Latest Instagrams

She returned to the platform after a short hiatus.

Britney Spears is back on Instagram, and of course, fans have their magnifying glasses out.

On Monday, September 20, Spears returned to IG with a post from her “weekend getaway” with fiancé Sam Asghari. She wrote in the caption, “Some shots from my weekend getaway to celebrate my engagement with my ... holy shit ... FIANCÉ ... I still can’t believe it !!!!”

She addressed her recent hiatus, saying, “I couldn’t stay away from the gram too long so I’m back already 💍😂🤷🏼‍♀️🤣 !!!!”

Fans were quick to notice a key difference in Spears's look. Just before the getaway post, she had debuted a red-dipped haircut with a shoulder-length chop. But her hair in these new posts is longer and has no red dye. It's sparked much fan discussion about how new the pics are and whether Spears herself posted.

Spears is pretty used to fan theories about her Instagram by now, so she swiftly responded to their concerns in her captions. She wrote, “Psss I took these in Palm Springs with clip in extensions 💁🏼‍♀️😉🌹!!!!!” And in a new dancing post, she added, “Pssss my red dye came out in the shower 🚿 and it looked like a crime scene 😬👻🩸!!!!” Some fans, however, still aren't convinced. Just peep the comments.

Britney Spears revealed her engagement to Sam Asghari on September 12, calling it “way overdue.” The announcement came shortly after her father, Jamie, filed a petition to end the conservatorship she's been under for 13 years.

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication, and love expressed to them,” Asghari’s manager, Brandon Cohen, shared in a statement, according to People, adding he is “proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement.”

Supporting Spears is at the top of Asghari's priority list, he told Forbes in March.

“My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I’m going,” Asghari says. “I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.”
