The pop star thanked fans for their support in a new post.
Britney Spears Says She's ‘Flattered’ People Are ‘Concerned’ About Her Life
Britney Spears appreciates the support. The pop star took to Instagram on April 12 to thank fans who are “concerned” about her life.
If you don't know, Spears's conservatorship, which doesn't give her full legal control of her life, became a national story in wake of the New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears. Brit's addressed the doc already, but it seems she has more to say.
In her latest Instagram post (a video of herself looking into the camera in a garden), she wrote, “Happy to share especially with a world that is empathetic and concerned with my life ... what can I say I'm FLATTERED.”
In addition to her conservatorship, Framing Britney Spears examined the ways she was mistreated by the media. Celebrities, including her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, have issued apologies for the way they talked about her in the press in the early-aughts. Maybe this is what Spears meant by “a world that is empathetic": one that takes accountability.
She continued, “Here's to another beautiful summer of popsicles and sunbathing ☀️☀️☀️😜😜😜 !!!” Brit, that is literally all we want.
In another Instagram post, Spears wrote, “I didn't watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in ... I cried for two weeks and well .... I still cry sometimes !!!!” On living in the spotlight, she said, “My life has always been very speculated ... watched ... and judged really my whole life !!!…It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I've always been so judged... insulted... and embarrassed by the media... and I still am till this day 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 !!!!”
But Spears is resilient. She and her boyfriend recently got vaccinated against COVID-19, and both seemed to be in great spirits.
