Britney Spears Slams Those Supporting #FreeBritney to ‘Save Face’: ‘How Dare You’
Britney Spears is not here for some people's “support” for #FreeBritney.
On July 16, the singer put out a rare statement blasting those who “ignored” her when she needed them the most only to publically support her during her public battle to end her 13-year conservatorship controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.
“There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support…there’s nothing worse than that!!!! How dare the people you love the most say anything at all,” she wrote in the caption. “Did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!??? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE…did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again…NO.”
She continued, "so if you’re reading this and you know who you…and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly!!! If you’re gonna post something….Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny….🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼 and have a good day !!!!! PS if you’re reading this today and you can relate….I’m sorry because I know what it’s like…and I send you my love 💋💋💋 !!!!

The quote she posted read, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask.”
While Britney didn't name names, fans in the comments are pointing towards her mother, Lynne Spears, and sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, after both shared cryptic messages of support following Britney's latest victory in court.
After the June 14 proceedings, in which the “Lucky” singer was granted the right to her own lawyer, Lynne posted this Bible verse on her grid: “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” Following furious responses from her daughter's fans, Lynne eventually limited the comments section.
Jamie Lynn Spears also posted a quote on her Instagram Stories, per Us Weekly, which read, “Once you choose hope, anything’s possible,” followed by her own words, “Dear Lord, Can we end this bull sh#t once and for all. Amen.” This comes just weeks after she took to social media to defend herself against critics. “Maybe I didn’t support the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I support my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I’ll support her long after,” she said, in part.

During Britney Spears’s original testimony on June 23, the “Lucky” singer told the court she would like to pursue legal action against her family. “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you. I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them,” she said, per Variety. “I want to be able to be heard on what they did to me by making me keep this in for so long, it is not good for my heart. I’ve been so angry and I cry every day. It concerns me, I’m told I’m not allowed to expose the people who did this to me.”
