Cardi B and Penn Badgley Made Each Other Their Twitter Profile Pics

I didn't know I needed this friendship.

Cardi B and Penn Badgley are having a mutual stan-fest on Twitter, and it’s the friendship I didn’t know I needed.

It all started on October 17, when a fan reposted a video of Badgley talking about Cardi B while promoting You back in 2019. Essentially, the Gossip Girl star said he admires the rapper for her authentic social media presence.

Cardi B retweeted the video and didn’t hide her excitement. “OOOOMMFFFGGGGGG HE KNOWS ME !!!OMMMGGGG!!!!!!Yoooo like I’m famous famous,” she wrote.

That’s when Badgley jumped in, expressing his own disbelief at Cardi’s tweet. “I-,” he posted.

Please collaborate on a song, you two. Or an album. Or maybe Cardi can guest-star on You season four? Literally do anything together, please. A sponsored Instagram post! A Doritos commercial! I need more Penn-Cardi content in my life.

You season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. “Part of what we’re trying to do is invite you to look a little more deeply at your reactions,” showrunner Sera Gamble told Glamour about the show, specifically concerning how audiences see Joe’s murderous behavior versus Love’s. “For me, I have this knee-jerk reaction to what I see as a romantic hero, where I believe him when he tells me why he’s motivated, and I think he’s being heroic and romantic. The invitation of the book and the show was to look at that a little more deeply. He’s a stalker, he’s a killer—like, is that really what you want in your life? Hopefully we’re also inviting that question to pop into your head about the women on the show too. Just as much as we are used to lionizing white male romantic heroes, we are so fucking quick to judge women.”
