Cardi B Hits Back at Fans Criticizing Her for Not Letting Her Daughter Hear 'WAP'

She says “parents are responsible” for what their children listen to and watch.

Cardi B isn’t here for mom-shamers. The “Money” rapper recently defended herself against haters who are upset she doesn’t want her literal toddler to listen to her and Meghan Thee Stallion’s song, “WAP.”

It all started with a funny video of Cardi dancing to the bop then rushing turn it off after her 2-year-old daughter, Kulture, walked into the room. It's obvious why she did this—"WAP" is a song for adults—but some social media users called her out for it.

“So ya daughter cant listen to it but everybody else’s daughter can ? @iamcardib AW OKAY ! Exactly what I been saying you have an agenda to push with that trash ass label your with. DISGUSTING,” one person tweeted.

Cardi was quick to shut this down, though. “Ya needs to stop with this already ! I’m not jojosiwa ! I don’t make music for kids I make music for adults,” she tweeted. “Parents are responsible on what their children listen too or see.I I’m a very sexual person but not around my child just like every other parent should be.”

Cardi B turning off a song about sex so her small child doesn’t hear is 100 percent valid. For one reason, it’s her child. For another, it’s! her! child! She gets to decide how to parent—not the internet.

Some fans came to her defense, arguing she's right to shield her daughter from adult content. One fan tweeted, “I don't blame Cardi B for refusing to let her daughter listen to ‘WAP.’ She makes songs for adults not children, just like pornstars won't let their children watch explicit videos, strip clubs owners won't let their kids in the clubs & bar owners won't give alcohol to their kids.”

Another wrote, “Y’all REALLY upset with cardi b not letting her kid hear WAP? It’s called be a responsible parent.”

Let’s move on, people. There’s really nothing to see here.
