Celebrities dressed in vintage fashion are a gift that keeps on giving
Celebrities wearing vintage is, hands down, one of our favourite things to see. Whether they're reworking a retro piece for a red carpet event, or simply to sporting a throwback piece while they're out and about on the town, we're all for making more sustainable fashion choices (I kid you not, we could wax lyrical about the best times A-listers have gloriously outfit repeated).
Of course, some celebs have made vintage fashion something of their style MO, with Bella Hadid, Kendall and Kylie Jenner increasingly opting for archive John Paul Gaultier. John Galliano's Dior is another fave making a resurgence with the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Rihanna. Of course, Tom Ford era Gucci has a soft spot across the board (see: Rihanna and Adwoa Aboah), while Kim Kardashian and Zendaya love a '90s/'00s Versace number.
So, without further ado, scroll through to see how celebs are embracing vintage fashion. Speaking of which, if you're keen to check out the best vintage sites and stores in the UK, check out our Fashion Director's extensive guide here.

Zendaya, queen of red carpet vintage fashion moments, served YET ANOTHER look at the Euphoria premiere overnight. For her latest red carpet appearance, the star opted for a vintage black and white striped boob tube style dress from Valentino's 1992 spring/summer collection. Amazing, right?
Well, did ya know, this exact dress was worn by a very famous '90s supermodel: Linda Evangelista (who also sported red hair with the look)? Scroll down to see the OG number.

Here's Linda sporting the designer dress, opting for matching statement earrings. Ah, we love to see how celebs style the same look, decades apart.

Bella Hadid walked the red carpet at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival wearing a reworked look from Jean Paul Gaultier's haute couture spring/summer 2002 collection. As it happens, Naomi Campbell debuted the original semi-sheer halterneck design down the runway almost two decades ago.
Zendaya paid homage to Beyoncé with her 2021 BET Awards outfit choice: an archive Versace number with a striking resemblance to one previously worn by Bey to the same event in 2003.

Y2K nostalgia is real, folks, and Rihanna's very pink (and totally extra) get-up, worn in New York City, is a case in point. While the fluffy hat is a retro mood in its own right, her matching semi-sheer slip dress is a vintage John Galliano design from Dior's 2002 collection.

Kylie Jenner attended the Annual Parson's Benefit with Travis Scott and Stormi Webster, wearing a particularly memorable vintage outfit: a forest green bodycon dress with cone bra detailing, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier in 1987. Yep, the look is actually older than her!

For Megan Markle's 2019 baby shower, held in New York, the Duchess of Sussex was spotted wearing an A-line black Courrèges coat from the '60s.

It feels like only yesterday that Jennifer Aniston stepped out at the 2020 SAG Awards wearing this vintage spring/summer 1999 collection silky Dior dress by John Galliano. And yep, we're still obsessed.

Bella Hadid. Cannes. Vintage. You know the drill. Here she is at the 2019 Film Festival sporting a scarlet red Roberto Cavalli gown with a thigh-high split, asymmetrical neckline and cut-out detailing. Originally from the label's spring 2005 show, this dress has actually been worn to Cannes multiple times, last in 2013 by Sharon Stone, and now by Bella, with the number featuring slightly updated details around the neckline.
For an outing in LA earlier this year, Rihanna wore a pair of Tom Ford era Gucci jeans from the house's spring/summer 1999 ready-to-wear collection. RiRi finished the look with a matching (and equally extra) floofy hat, a white tee and stilettos.

Kim Kardashian attended the 2019 amfAR Gala wearing a daring LBD with a plunging neckline from Versace's 1991 collection.

For her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last year, Princess Beatrice opted for a vintage wedding dress, originally worn by the Queen back in 1962. Designed by Norman Hartnell - the same designer who made the Queen and Princess Margaret's wedding dresses - royal dressmaker Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin made a few tweaks to the garment here and there to make it unique to Beatrice.

Cardi B made one helluva arrival on the 2019 Grammys red carpet wearing this OTT piece from Thierry Mugler's 1995-96 couture show. Issa lewk, that's for sure, and we love it when celebs make bold fashion choices.

Kim arrived at the 2020 Oscars wearing an Alexander McQueen dress once described as the "most important dress of the 21st century". Yup, one of only two ever made, McQueen's 'Oyster' dress, from the British designer's 2003 spring/summer collection, and is equal parts bold and significant.

Kendall Jenner appeared at a London Fashion Week party last year wearing mesh Jean Paul Gaultier separates - first incorporated into the designer's 1994 collection - with butterfly print and sexy lace-up detailing.
According to Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach, the actor opted for an archive Versace number from the designer's 1996 autumn/winter collection to attend the 2020 Green Carpet Fashion Awards.
