“I'm just going to say it all.”
Demi Lovato Doesn’t Hold Back in the First Trailer for Her New Docuseries
The first full trailer for Demi Lovato's new, four-part documentary series just dropped, and the singer doesn't hold anything back.
“I'm just going to say it all,” she says at the top of the trailer. “And then if we, like, don't want to use any of it, we can take it out.”
In the January announcement of Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil, Lovato said the series will explore her “darkest point,” and this trailer confirms that.
“I had three strokes. I had a heart attack,” Lovato says about the events following her 2018 overdose. “My doctors said that I had 5 to 10 more minutes.” We also hear the actual 911 call from that day, plus interviews with friends, family, and celebrities, including Elton John.
“Are we talking about heroin? Are we doing that?” Lovato's friend asks the camera at one point.
“I can't believe y'all are doing this,” another adds.
“I've had a lot of lives,” Lovato says. “You know, I'm on my ninth. I'm ready to get back to doing what I love, which is making music.”

According to the official statement from YouTube, this docuseries will cover the last three years of Lovato's life. “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil is an honest look back at some of the most trying times in Lovato’s life as she unearths her prior traumas and discovers the importance of her physical, emotional, and mental health,” a statement from January reads. “For the first time, Lovato will open up about every aspect that led to her nearly fatal overdose in 2018 and her awakenings in the aftermath as viewers are granted unprecedented access to the superstar’s personal and musical journey over the past three years.”
“It’s been two years since I came face-to-face with the darkest point in my life, and now I’m ready to share my story with the world,” Lovato said in her own statement at the time. “For the first time, you’ll be able to see my chronicle of struggle and ongoing healing from my point of view. I’m grateful that I was able to take this journey to face my past head-on and finally share it with the world.”
The four-part docuseries Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil begins airing on YouTube on March 23, 2021.
