Drake Made a Rare Appearance With His Son at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards

Drake won Artist of the Decade at the show.

Celebrating Father's Day a month early! Drake made the most of the night on Sunday, May 23, accepting his Billboard Music Award for Artist of the Decade with his three-and-a-half-year-old son, Adonis, by his side. The rapper has typically kept his toddler out of the spotlight, but on stage, their bond was too adorable.

"I want to dedicate this award to my friends, I want to dedicate this award to my longtime collaborators," the “Hotline Bling” rapper told the audience as his son held onto his trophy. “I want to dedicate this award to all my peers, all your decisions, and the music you make really does have me tossing and turning at night trying to figure out what I should do next. Thank you to my beautiful family." Drake then picked Adonis up so he could see the crowd.

“And to you, I wanna dedicate this award to you!” Drake said to Adonis, giving him a big kiss on the cheek. Awww!

Drake has mostly kept his son out of the spotlight, explaining on his album, Scorpion, that it was out of protectiveness. But in March 2020, he posted some adorable father-and-son pictures to Instagram for the first time, writing, “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all. Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy. When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright…I love and miss my beautiful family and friends and I can’t wait for the joyful day when we are all able to reunite. Until then please keep your lights on."

So sweet!
