She performed her first official duty as the creative director of Fwrd.
Follow Kendall Jenner During a Busy Day at New York Fashion Week
Kendall Jenner is used to having a packed schedule during New York Fashion Week, but this past one was a little more hectic, even for her. As the new creative director for Fwrd, the model and businesswoman made showroom visits to designers to select what the retailer will stock from the spring 2022 collections. She let Vogue tag along for one busy day, from Central Park to NoHo.
Her day began at the Michael Kors runway show, held at Tavern on the Green in the park. Jenner opened the show in a black bra top and pencil skirt with a bold red lip. Then it was off to Peter Do’s showroom ahead of the designer’s first runway show. In the car, Jenner mused on her transition from model to creative director of Fwrd and founder of 818 tequila. “I have a lot of sisters who are all really powerful females and businesswomen, especially my mom and even my grandma,” she says. “I always knew it was going to be a step for me.”
For her first official task as creative director, Jenner found plenty to love in Do’s showroom. She admired Do’s sculptural suit separates, coats, and one pair of particularly “cool jeans.” “Now I’m being selfish, I’m just looking for myself!” she says, laughing. After making the pulls, she says, “I love modeling, but a lot of the time you’re someone else’s vision, so it’s really cool to be on this side of it and have more control over things.”
In the car after her visit to Do’s studio, she jumped on a Zoom call to attend to her other business: 818 tequila. “It’s been the joy of my life,” she says. After visiting a few other designers, it was time for Jenner to get glam for a Fwrd dinner at Zero Bond in NoHo. The paparazzi, of course, captured her LBD as she entered the restaurant.
