Who needs a step and repeat when you have a gown and a backyard?
Halle Berry Created Her Own At-Home Red Carpet Moment
Backyards are the new red carpet—haven’t you heard? In the absence of step and repeats this past year, stars have been turning their homes into a place where they can still flex a serious look. Just take a moment to recall Anne Hathaway, who brought bewitching couture to her backyard back in January, snapping pics by the pool to promote her latest film, Locked Down. This awards season, stars have also been Zooming in for the ceremonies from their homes—wearing plenty of elegant evening wear, no less. The popular sentiment seems to be that having fun with fashion can still continue, even if there’s nowhere to go and be seen in it.
Now, actor Halle Berry is getting in on the fun, too. This week, the actor created her own red carpet moment at home for no occasion whatsoever. “Looking for a red carpet moment,” Berry wrote, clearly missing a big Hollywood night out. Taking to Instagram yesterday, she did the next best thing and struck a dramatic pose outside her house in a Christian Siriano design, which included a full tulle skirt and a crop top with butterflies embellished on it. (Siriano pointed out that she is actually the first star to wear the new pre-fall collection, which is an all-recycled collection.) The major fashion moment was the perfect look for Berry to stunt on the ’gram in—and at 54, she’s quite simply never looked better.
