Welcome to Shopping With Voguea series in which we sift through a fashion lover’s favorite store. For this edition, we shop on e-commerce resale platform Tradesy with model turned editor turned CEO Lauren Chan (@lcchan) of the luxury plus-size label Henning.

Lauren Chan has enjoyed quite the career trajectory. A model who became an editor at Glamour in 2015, she launched the luxury plus-size women’s label Henning in 2018. She also loves vintage. Not entirely surprising, as online vintage shopping is a haven for people who have worked in editorial but don’t quite have the moola to spend on the products featured in their magazines. On our Zoom call on a recent Monday, Chan tells me about a vintage olive Prada bag she bought when she moved to New York from Canada in 2013. The satchel came with a detachable crossbody strap and could fit her comp cards, her heels, or even her lunch. “I needed a big-girl bag to feel like I belonged in this part of the industry and to feel like I belonged in the part of the rooms that I was walking into as a plus-size model or an editor at Condé Nast,” she says. “It was a brand that I had been in love with forever and was at my price point for the salary I was making. I didn’t have to walk into a Prada store and be intimidated.”
