Zara is one of those retailers that's universally appealing—nobody can resist. Here's what women from their 20s to their 60s say they always buy from Zara.
I Polled My Mom, Sister, and Friends—Peep Their Zara Shopping Carts
There are very few people I know who can resist the allure of Zara; I'm definitely not one of them. I find that whenever the retailer gets brought up in conversation, whether it's with my mom or a group of friends, it's met with an instant, "Ugh, I love Zara." Because of its universal appeal, I often wonder how my current purchases compare to what I'll be buying from the retail 10 years from now. Obviously Zara offers cool pieces at affordable prices, but I was curious what other age groups look for when they walk into the store. To dig a little deeper, I polled my friends, sister, mother, and family friends from all different age brackets to find out what they're buying from Zara right now. I left their names out to spare their shopping secrets but noted their quotes and shopping picks below. Keep reading to see and shop the 20 pieces women of all ages are buying from Zara.
20s
"I love Zara for cool trend pieces that I don't want to spend a ton of money on. They also make fun going-out tops and good basics like tees and tanks, so I usually stock up on those from the TRF section."
Zara Structured Vest ($70)"I would pair this with high-waisted shorts and boots, just like the model."
Zara Faux Leather Puffer Jacket ($70)"Puffer jackets are all I want to wear right now, and this one is actually affordable."
Zara Pearl Button Jacket ($40)"Those buttons though!"
Zara Turtleneck Sleeve Scarf ($30)"This will be a key layer for every winter outfit moving forward."
30s
"Nobody can resist a good Zara find, but I hate having the same pieces as everyone else. For this reason, I usually stick to solid basics from Zara—like a great coat or bodysuit that's just nondescript enough that everyone won't immediately know it's Zara. The only exception I'll make is for its dresses. They're just too good."
Zara Belted Coat Limited Edition ($219)"Is this designer? Is this Zara? Nobody knows"
Zara Halterneck Bodysuit ($20)"I saw Rosie HW wearing this high-neck bodysuit, so I bought this high-neck bodysuit. Bad joke, but it's the truth."
Zara Satin Effect Print Dress ($70)"There's nothing better than an easy printed Zara dress."
Zara Wool Blend Oversized Coat ($89.99)"The oversize structure of this blazer coat makes it feel Scandinavian in a way, which I love."
40s
"I absolutely love shopping at Zara. You can make an exciting new purchase with zero guilt. I've always had great luck in the shoe department and adore its blazers and coats. The brand's costume jewelry is also an underrated category."
Zara Belted Blazer ($30)"The wrap design makes this blazer feel feminine and flattering, and I would've guessed this was much more expensive if I saw someone wearing it on the street."
Zara High Shaft Heeled Leather Boots ($169)"The rich color and slouchy shape feel classic and timeless."
Zara Links Necklace ($20)"I hate spending money on jewelry trends I'm not overly committed to, so Zara's price points are the perfect way to test them out before making a big purchase."
Zara Checkered Cropped Blazer ($90)"I've always loved tweed for the office, and this cropped blazer jacket feels polished and professional."
50s
"I always find the prettiest blouses at Zara, from beautiful prints to elegant details like bows and buttoned cuffs. I also like its trouser selection and unique sweaters—they're gorgeous."
Zara Wide Leg Menswear Style Pants ($40)"A good tailored trouser is a staple for your wardrobe, and a wide-leg fit is super comfy."
Zara Satin Effect Ruffled Collar Blouse ($40)"This neckline feels elevated and unique while the color is just beautiful."
Zara Jacquard Wrap Blouse ($70)"A tie-belt at the waist is always flattering, and I was unsure about this bold print at first, but I think it's a fun detail the more I look at it."
Zara Knit Sweater ($40)"Zara's knit selection is vast, and I pretty much always find something that catches my eye. This loose gray sweater is the perfect winter basic."
60s
"I don't do a ton of shopping these days, but when I do it's usually to replace an item I'm fond of but has gotten too worn in. I like Zara's selection of blazer jackets because it has a wide variety. I also always find good basic accessories like scarves and gloves at reasonable prices."
Zara Buttoned Cropped Blazer ($119)"A good blazer jacket will last you for years. You can build countless outfits with it, and it makes everything feel more dressed up, so this cropped style would go right in my cart."
Zara Double Breasted Buttoned Blazer ($90)"Like I said, a good blazer never goes out of style. I like this neutral-colored one because you could pair it with almost anything—even jeans and a T-shirt."
Zara Plaid Scarf ($36)"I hate spending a lot of money on scarves because I'm always losing them, so Zara's selection is perfect for me. They're cute and comfortable, without being scary to take out of the house."
Zara Satin Effect Scarf ($18)"Now this print is just fun! I would wear it with my black blazer jacket for an evening out."
