Is Silver the New Gold? Rihanna and Beyoncé Seem to Think So

“I think metallic needs to come back—silver in particular,” Rihanna told Vogue.

It’s time to make room in our jewelry boxes for the silver jewelry trend. For the past couple of seasons, chunky gold chains have dominated every corner of the accessory world, from thick, in-your-face necklaces to shiny straps on shoulder bags. But statement silvery pieces are quietly taking center stage once again.

When asked to describe her perfect fall outfit, even Rihanna couldn’t help but call out the shiny gray baubles. “I’m imagining looks with a lot of silver accessories. I think metallic needs to come back—silver in particular,” she exclusively said to Vogue during the premiere of the Savage X Fenty Volume 3 show. “I’m wearing a lot of silver jewelry tonight—even my toenails are [painted] silver right now.”

Rihanna isn’t alone. There are several stars trading gold for the lighter hue. Zendaya graciously celebrated the premiere of Dune in Bulgari’s Serpenti bracelet. And Kim Kardashian anchored a bright pink Balenciaga look with metallic earrings and a coordinating bag.

There’s certainly no better time than the present to indulge in the silver jewelry trend, especially with holiday soirees just around the corner. Read on to discover five ways to wear silvery metallic trinkets this fall.
