It's actually quite shocking.
January Jones and Kiernan Shipka Recreated Their 2011 Golden Globes Looks
In honor of the 2021 Golden Globes, January Jones donned the plunging, candy-red Versache dress she wore to the awards show ten years earlier while starring in Mad Men. “10yrs later and it still, (sorta), fits,” she captioned the pic on Instagram.
Joining in the nostalgia, her former costar Kiernan Shipka put on her Golden Globes dress from 2011, too. “hey January Jones, I heard we’re putting on our Golden Globes looks from 10 years ago,” she cationed an Instagram photo of herself and Jones with their arms around each other when they attended the Globes for their roles as mother and daughter in Mad Men.
Flick through her post and you'll see a photo of herself in the dress today. It's a little bit shocking—Shipka was 11 in the first picture. Today, she's grown up and anchoring her own TV show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix.
“Yaaaasss!” Jones commented on Shipka's post. “I believe this is called upcycling now.” Shipka's dress, a velvet-y, lace-collared babydoll in an eggplant shade, feels just as award-show appropriate as anything on the red carpet tonight.
In her stories, Jones said that she “squeezed” into the dress, joking that eating frosted donuts is “part of the problem,” as well as having had a child. With all respect to Jones and the tremendous pressure she faces as a woman in Hollywood, neither eating donuts nor having a baby is a problem! Both are things to celebrate. Jones' son, Xander, is nine now. Little Sally Draper is a star. At risk of getting emotional over a celebrity TBT, the most notable thing about Jones' post is that she looks so, so happy. We hope all of Hollywood gives themselves a break and have a donut tonight.
