Jenna Ortega Says This SPF Mist Is a Game-Changer If You Always Forget Sunscreen
Jenna Ortega admits she's struggled with a skincare routine in the past, so when she says she's been using a product every day for years, you a) immediately believe her, and b) know it must work. “I've been using Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit Acne Wash since I was 13,” says the actress. “I have combination skin, but it doesn't dry out my skin, and it smells amazing.”
It's that reason that Ortega was super excited when the brand approached her one of their ambassadors. “It was definitely a pinch-me moment,” she shares. “To have grown up with their products and loved them for so long, it's just really cool.”

From starring in the Disney Channel series, Stuck in the Middle, to Netflix's dramatic thriller, You, we asked Ortega—currently starring opposite Jennifer Garner in the Netflix movie, Yes Day—to share what she's learned. Time for another round of Glamour's Big Beauty Questions!
What is one beauty rule that you swear by?
My best friend told me to wash my pillow cases and sheets once a week, and it changed my life. Little things like that make such a difference for your skin. And always wear sunscreen. I love Neutrogena’s new Ultra Sheer 55 Face Mist. It’s not too thick, and it’s literally two spritzes before I walk out the door. I keep it in my car as well so I never forget.

Everyone feeling like they have to draw on or fill in their eyebrows the same way. Social media has impacted how we view certain trends, and we're always thinking about our image, but beauty is subjective. Your face is your canvas and place to play, so don’t feel like you have to style yourself a certain way or look a certain way just because it will get you the most likes.
What is the best beauty advice your mom ever gave you?
Consistency and routine. I’ll become super obsessed with something and then drop it, especially with my work hours. So my mom has taught me to commit to a routine. I’ve noticed if I don’t, my skin will often break out more.
Fill in the blank: I love my hair…
When my baby hairs don’t try to crawl to the other side of my face. [Laughs] I have like three different cowlicks in my hair, and a bunch of baby hairs, so my baby hairs on my left side will stray to my right side, and vice-versa. I can never just have a perfect middle part unless my hair is professionally done because my baby hairs like to fight me!
If you can only use three products for the rest of your life, what would they be?
A hair brush for sure. And if I do wear makeup, I’m obsessed with lashes, so I love the Neutrogena HydroBoost mascara. And a jade roller. When I get stressed out, I don't sleep very well, and then my face tends to get very puffy in the morning, so that helps soothe my skin.

I’m using Santal 33 right now. Or Marc Jacobs Daisy. It depends on if I want a super feminine smell or a neutral smell, like Santal 33, which is very clean and unisex.

I love to read and write. I’ve been driving to the beach and reading and listening to some good music. Right now I’m reading Ralph Waldo Emerson. He has an essay called Self Reliance that has always been one of my favorite essays.
