Jennifer Lopez Just Debuted a Pixie Cut, and Of Course She Looks Amazing

What would you expect?

Over her decades-spanning career, Jennifer Lopez has rocked hundreds of hair transformations. But there’s one look we’ve rarely seen her wear and that’s a pixie cut

For the cover of Allure’s March issue, the singer, actor, and beauty mogul’s signature waves are swapped out for a cool, close crop by her longtime hairstylist, Chris Appleton. Some absolutely giant earrings and body glimmer complete the look nicely. There’s almost a 100% chance the cut is a wig, but if it’s any indication on how she would look, we’re in favor of her going for the real thing.

While her hair is the center of attention in the shoot, the rest of the glam is classic J. Lo—think bronzy eyes, her signature nude lip, and glowing skin (courtesy of J. Lo Beauty, obviously).

This isn’t the only hair change Jennifer Lopez has made in the past few months. First she was spotted with some cool chunky highlights (yes, they’re cool again), and in October she tried on a pair of trendy curtain bangs. While the bangs looked amazing, they sadly also weren’t permanent, as Appleton revealed in a masterclass the following day that they were just a pair of convincing clip-ins.

However, he did share some tips if you’re hoping to get the look for yourself. “The secret to a good curtain bang is closing the forehead shape,” he said. “I like to use ColorWow’s Raise the Root volumizing spray on dry hair, then grab a hair dryer and a big round brush to pull the hair forward and down, while hitting it with heat for a couple of seconds.” This technique, he says, will help your bangs act more like a curtain to frame your face.

Apparently there’s no hairstyle Lopez can’t pull off. Maybe the mullet is next? A girl can dream.
