John Krasinski's Final 'SNL' Outfit Had a Subtle Reference to His Daughters
If you caught John Krasinski's episode of Saturday Night Live on January 30, you might have noticed him rocking a sweater emblazoned with “H+V” during the good-nights. No, that's not some cool new menswear label. H + V stands for Hazel and Violet, the names of Krasinski's daughters with Emily Blunt.
Kransinski's stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, revealed this little Easter egg on her Instagram, posting a picture of the Jack Ryan star with the SNL cast and writing in the caption, “John wanted to have his daughters’ initials monogrammed on his shirt for SNL goodnight looks ❤️ - styled by yours truly in @boglioliofficial with @missoni pants + @iwcwatches #girldad.”

The subtle sweater design wasn't the only way Krasinski shouted out to his daughters that night. In his opening monologue, the Office vet told the story of how he'd explained his hosting gig to his girls: “I have been watching this show since I was eight years old. I was trying to explain that to my kids, what I was doing this week, and I told them, ‘You know how your favorite show is Paw Patrol? My favorite show is SNL. So for me, it’s like I'm on Paw Patrol. And they were like, 'What? You're on Paw Patrol?' And I said ‘No, no,’ and they were like, ‘Oh. Well then, call us when you're on Paw Patrol.'"
Fair enough, Hazel and Violet. Paw Patrol is an excellent program.
Though John Krasinski and Emily Blunt tend to keep their kids out of the spotlight, the mom of two did open up in December 2020 about how parenting has helped her find joy amid the pandemic. “Being around little ones during the pandemic was such a saving grace because they would just be bouncing around the house, and your job is to protect them from what is happening and make sure their life remains joyful,” she said. “That was a pretty great lifeline for John and me during the pandemic, for sure.” Sounds like a great thing to commemorate on a sweater, or anywhere else!
