Justin and Hailey Bieber Give a Masterclass In Black Tie Attire
When Justin and Hailey Bieber decide it’s time for a style moment, the fashion world takes note. And with good reason, as evidenced by their take on black tie last night. Hours after the Biebers were spotted out in his and hers Drew House sweats, they switched to formalwear for their evening out to a gallery showing at The House on Sunset, and to celebrate Justin’s recent Freedom Art Experience concert. With Justin in a black tux from Balenciaga and Hailey sporting Alessandra Rich’s velvet and lace floor-length gown from Alessandra Rich’s fall/winter 2021 lookbook, they looked like they stepped out of an editorial.
Created while Rich was on lockdown in Milan and missing her home in London, the designer’s fall collection was all about freedom and fantasy. With its long puffed sleeves, sweetheart neckline, and soft texture, Hailey’s look had touches of whimsy, but it’s daring skirt, which revealed flashes of leg through transparent lace, was straight-up sexy. Rich’s pieces are in high demand—yesterday, Lady Gaga wore the designer’s velvet maxi dress while posing atop the Empire State Building, while Vanessa Hudgens packed another of fall’s lacy looks for her trip to the Filming Italy festival this weekend. As always, Hailey was on-trend.
After starring in a Balenciaga campaign, one might expect Justin’s wardrobe to skew subversive. But the superstar’s choice of a Demna Gvasalia-designed suit with a satin lapel was classic. Justin and Hailey’s stylists, Karla Welch and Maeve Reilly, respectively, have always been good about keeping the couple’s outfits coordinated. Still, last night’s mix of tried and true menswear staples and an ultra-glamorous gown was an incredibly chic match worthy of a young Hollywood power couple.
