Kate Middleton Has Clearly Missed Dressing Up

Is that a Bond girl or Kate Middleton we see? It was hard to tell at tonight’s world premiere of No Time to Die in London—the latest installment in the James Bond franchise, starring Daniel Craig. With husband Prince William, as well as the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall by her side, the Duchess of Cambridge wore one of her most glamorous gowns to date, complete with a dramatic cape and tons of shimmering gold sequins. She could have stepped out of Goldfinger.

Middleton’s gown was created by Jenny Packham, who showed a similar design in her recent fall 2021 collection. Middleton’s style appeared to be custom-made, and featured a built-in cape that grazed the floor. She accessorized it with golden earrings by O’Nita, a London-based brand, and stilettos. The Duchess is known to go glam for special occasions, like when she wore a gold-embroidered Alexander McQueen gown to the 2020 BAFTAs, but even so, this was a statement. Perhaps even the Duchess of Cambridge has missed dressing up—and we are certainly on board with her new, glitzier look.
