Kate Middleton Totally Twinned With Princess Diana in This Red Coat
Kate Middleton has been compared to Princess Diana basically since she and Prince William started dating in college. There are the obvious reasons, such as the fact they both married the future king of England and have had their every move documented by the global press. But both are style icons of their time, influencing women around the world with their fashion choices. So, when the Duchess of Cambridge steps out in a look that resembles one previously worn by her late mother-in-law, royal fans go wild.
Such was the case on October 20, when Middleton and Prince William attended an event at Waterloo Station in London honoring the finalists from the Hold Still campaign, which highlighted photographic moments from the quarantine and is a passion project of Middleton's. It was clearly a bit chilly across the pond, as the duchess chose a long red trench-style coat for the occasion—along with her go-to floral face mask.
She and her ever-bouncy hair looked great, as per usual.
The coat was reminiscent of one Princess Diana was spotted in at the Zurich airport in 1994. Check it out, below.
The silhouette of the coat is, obviously, a bit different, with Middleton's being more tapered at the waist. But the bold shade and black button accents are quite similar, as is their choice to pair the outerwear with black pants (Middleton's are a cropped style) and accessories. The similarities are even more noticeable when you see the looks side-by-side.
Of course, there isn't a need to read too much into the choice, as red trench coats have certainly been in style (and will continue to be) for years—you can even shop some convincing dupes below. But we do love these twinning moments between Kate Middleton and Princess Di, whether they are intentional or not. For a full gallery of times they've matched each other's looks, click here.

“This is my first-ever Amazon review. I liked this mask so much I had to write. I wear glasses and have tried several masks; most fog up the lenses and make it really hard to see. Also, I like to walk briskly, and some masks are sucked into my nose and mouth when I breathe, making it harder to actually get any air. This mask was attractive and got good reviews, so I took a chance on it. When it arrived, it looked so small that I was afraid they’d sent a child's mask. But it was the correct size; it was just pleated to allow space for the nose (making it look small when pleats were folded). I used to sew, and this is very well-made. It has stiff enough fabric inside to prevent inhaling it. And enough flexibility around the nose to fit under my glasses to prevent fogging! It’s also very PRETTY.… Plan to order in other fabrics as they become available. I found the right style for me!” —Mary Hatch$15AmazonThis story originally appeared on: Glamour - Author:CelebDailyPosts
