Well, I'm crying.
Kate Middleton Wore a Pink Dress for the Sweetest Reason
Kate Middleton wore a bubblegum pink dress on Thursday, May 27 for the absolute sweetest reason: to fulfill a promise to a little girl with leukemia.
Back in 2020, four-year-old Mila Sneddon was undergoing intensive chemotherapy for her leukemia, per the Daily Mail, and her mother Lynda snapped a photo of her looking out the window at her father. That photograph was included in Middleton's photography book Hold Still. And in early May 2021, the Duchess of Cambridge called Mila on the phone and shared their conversation on YouTube.
In the call, young Mila, who is now five, tells Middleton, “Good morning, Your Royal Highness,” and says she knows her children's names and asks if she has a “princess costume.”
“I'm not wearing a princess costume right now I'm afraid, Mila,” responds Middleton, ever honest to children. When she finds out the girl's favorite color is pink, she adds, “I'll have to make sure I try and find a pink dress. Hopefully when, one day, hopefully, Mia, we'll get to meet and then I'll wear remember to wear my pink dress for you.”
That day finally came! On May 27, Daily Mail editor Rebecca English posted video to Twitter of Kate Middleton and Mila meeting. As promised, they are both in princess pink dresses. Journalist Chris Ship also posted a video of the moment:

In the video, Middleton wears a mask and keeps her distance, but pantomimes giving Mila a big hug and compliments her dress and shoes. Mila spins to show off her dress' full skirt and seems delighted to finally meet her new friend IRL.

Mila and her family live in Falkirk, Scotland, so the royal couple's current tour of Scotland provided the perfect opportunity for the meeting.
They're definitely making the most of being out, about, and vaccinated. The married couple went back to the town where they fell in love, and Middleton made a colorful sartorial statement by channeling another princess look: Diana's blue power suit.
