Katie Holmes Masters High-Low Accessorizing

The actor proved good style doesn’t have a price tag.

Katie Holmes is entering fall in style. The actor bundled up in New York on Sunday wearing a camel turtleneck with classic blue, straight-leg jeans. If a pumpkin spiced latte were an outfit, it would be this. But while the look was put-together, it was the actor’s accessories game that was the true standout. Holmes proved, once again, that she has mastered the art of mixing high and low.

Holmes sported Saint Laurent’s Manhattan bag in a black, embossed croc leather, slung cross-body. Retailing for $2,250, it’s certainly an investment piece. Her sneakers, meanwhile, had a much more accessible price point. Holmes wore Sorel’s Kinetic RNEGD sneakers, which retail for $110 and come in a variety of fun colorways. The chunky, athletic shape lent a casual edge to her otherwise-polished ensemble.

This isn’t the first time Holmes has married luxury items with more accessible pieces. In the past, she’s paired a checkered Khaite coat with $160 Vagabond loafers, or put on a Max Mara wool coat with $220 Sorel boots (clearly, she’s a Sorel fan). Her latest accessories only continued her winning style streak, and proved that good pieces come at any dollar amount. Style doesn’t have a price tag!
