Kylie Jenner’s 2000s Top Is a Vintage Gem
Kylie Jenner’s archival designer collection is getting more impressive by the day. With help of her stylist, Jill Jacobs, Jenner clearly has a passion for finding bygone runway looks and then reviving them with a brand new feel—look at what she’s done with throwback Dior, Chanel, and Gucci. Her most recent vintage grail? A criss-cross top from Versace’s spring 2005 collection. Yes, the 2000s are back.
The runway show where the top made its debut nearly 20 years ago was all about fun, colorful poolside couture (including bold jersey dresses and swimsuits). At one point, the exact top Jenner wore was on 1st Dibs for over $5,000. It features a colorful cross and baroque print, and a belt detail with the label’s signature Medusa head logo on the buckle.
Given the high-octane nature of the top’s print, Jenner styled it pretty simply with white, high-waisted jeans. She still had fun with the accessories, including a rainbow assortment of Mon Cher Moi rings, a Bonbonwhims “pop tab” earring, and Louis Vuitton’s Dalmatian- and monogram-print pochette bag, also vintage (it was a collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami). Overall, it’s the perfect zingy look to wear in anticipation of spring—and the ultimate vintage score to add to her already-impressive wardrobe.
