Lady Gaga Prays Inauguration Day Is Full of “Peace for All Americans”

She shared a message from inside the Capitol.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' inauguration day is here, and Lady Gaga is one of the many notable public figures who are in Washington D.C. to celebrate. The Chromatica singer, who is set to perform the national anthem during the event, took to Instagram to share her hopes for the day.

After the Capitol riots that took place earlier this month left many people uneasy about how Biden's inauguration day will unfold, Gaga says she is praying for a peaceful transition of power. “I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear," she wrote on Instagram in a photo taken in the U.S. Capitol Building.

She continued, “A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol.”

The singer also met with the National Guard ahead of the inauguration, as seen in the photos below:

Gaga's Instagram is full of posts about her excitement around the incoming president and being invited to sing at the inauguration. After Biden and Harris' victory was announced, Gaga posted a photo hugging Biden. “@joebiden @KamalaHarris and the American people, you just gave the world one of the greatest acts of kindness and bravery humanity has ever seen. nothing but love for our new Commander in Chief and the 1ST female VP elected to the White House,” she captioned the photo. “Also, way to go PA.”

And Gaga fans, or Little Monsters, have been joking on social media that the inauguration will actually be a concert for the singer. “We should be referring to the inauguration as the lady gaga concert,” one fan wrote. Another tweeted, “Can’t wait for the live lady gaga performance tomorrow. i heard joe biden is gonna be there ??” One user wrote, “Can’t believe we’re getting a new president at the lady gaga concert tomorrow.”
