While introducing the Archewell Audio podcast with Harry, the Duchess wore a standout look from the Resort collections.
Meghan Markle Finds the Moment’s Happiest Print
Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they were stepping away from royal duties back in 2020, the world has been speculating about their next chapter. This month, the pair has been opening up about the future. After a Valentine’s Day pregnancy announcement, they made a surprise appearance at this morning’s Spotify Stream On conference to discuss their latest creative endeavor. The virtual event previewed projects from Billie Eilish, Blackpink, Justin Bieber, and even Barack Obama. Still, the highlight was the debut episode of Archewell Audio, podcast, and an at-home clip of the couple talking about its creation. “We’re using podcasting to drive powerful conversations,” shared Markle during the teaser. “We created Archewell Audio to make sure that we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard and hear people’s stories.”
Naturally, Markle’s style took center stage from the moment she appeared onscreen. In a lemon print slip dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2021 presentation, she was regal yet relaxed. The collection from designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia focused on the brand’s heritage, utilizing motifs connected to its founder’s upbringing in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the streamlined style he helped to popularize in the 1960s. The punchy, citrus-filled pattern featured on floor-length silk gowns, corset tops, and knits, but Markle opted for the low-key version of the look. With its loose fit, flounced hem, and playful leaf detailing, the dress was a light choice fit for an unconventional royal.
With a baby on the way, a newly launched podcast, and that freshly signed Netflix production deal, the Sussexes are sure to remain in the spotlight during 2021. Their commitment to using that attention for good means plenty of meaningful content is on the horizon, and a few great outfits too.
