Michael Strahan Got His Signature Tooth Gap Removed

“I did it,” he revealed in a video.

It's time to say goodbye to Michael Strahan's signature look. The former NFL player-turned-Good Morning America host surprised everyone on March 30 when he debuted his new smile without his signature tooth gap. He shared a video on Instagram, admitting that he didn't tell family, friends, fans, or business associates because they'd all tell him not to get the procedure.

“I did it. @smiledesignmanhattan #GoodbyeGap,” he captioned the video of him at the cosmetic dentistry practice, Smile Design Manhattan, showing off his new look.

Honestly, it's wild to see Michael Strahan without the gap, but he still looks great, of course. A lot of his followers showed support after he revealed his new smile. “Wow bro!! That’s a major move!! When u feel good u do good!! Happy for ya,” one person commented. Another wrote, “Well @michaelstrahan you did it and I’m happy for you. It was your signature look, but doesn’t mean you can’t have a second signature look."

One follower even joked about their personal attachment to his tooth gap: “Never thought I’d be emotional over another mans tooth gap...yet here we are...”

The retired New York Giants player revealed to ELLE.com in 2012 that in the past he was “really close" to closing his gap. He even went to the dentist to do mock-ups but ultimately chose not to go through with it. “There’s so much pressure to be perfect," he said in the interview. "You can fix everything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say, ‘This is who I am.’ I’m not perfect. I don’t want to try to be perfect. At this point, I don’t think my kids would recognize me without it. They’d be like, ‘Who is this stranger in the house? Call 911!'”

Well, let's hope he was wrong about that one!
