Flares are back, and dressier than ever!
Of Course Victoria Beckham Made Bell-bottoms Chic
Cue Hot Stuff by Donna Summer! The 1970s are back in a big way, and flared jeans in particular have been having a big moment. Where pin-straight skinny jeans once dominated our wardrobes, it’s officially cool to have a wide-leg pant again—just ask Harry Styles, Katie Holmes, and Anderson .Paak. When paired with dressier pieces like a blazer or silk blouse, even bell-bottom jeans don’t at all feel costume-y or dated. In fact, Victoria Beckham just showcased the perfect way to make them feel super current.
Spotted in New York City today, the designer wore a pair of blue flared jeans that are basically the perfect wash: not too light, not too dark, and with just the right amount of distressing. They also skimmed right above the ground, with the help of concealed stilettos. Styled with a white blazer, ruffled blouse, and brown Hermès Birkin bag, the outfit had an effortless, French feel. Leave it to Posh Spice to make the throwback trend look modern and fresh. As for the tight, vacuum-sealed denim of the 2010s? They deserve a well-earned rest—for now.
