Nothing sour about this look.
Olivia Rodrigo Shows Off Pink Hair in Her New ‘Traitor’ Music Video
On the heartbreak and healing journey that is Olivia Rodrigo's debut album Sour, “Traitor” is a particularly gut-wrenching track. And as with Rodrigo's other highly stylized visual interpretations, the song's music video—released earlier today, October 21—featured a beauty look dreamed up to further the romantically messy message.
In contrast to the parade of Y2K-inspired vibes that defined the “Brutal” video, “Traitor” found Rodrigo rocking only her signature waist-skimming brunette lengths, this time augmented by blown-out burgundy ends.
Faded to a blend of pretty pinks and deep reds, the hue—perfected by hair colorist Jessica Gonzalez, with styling by Rodrigo's go-to Clayton Hawkins—fit within Rodrigo's soft grunge feel, which also centered on a dewy (dare we say sweaty?) complexion, strategic glitter, shimmering lids, and refractive highlighter. A thin, faded flick of black liner teamed with air-dried waves and a vintage ensemble for a glamorous interpretation of a teenage fever dream, all culminating in an after-hours dive into the public pool. From high school halls to traffic jams, high pigtails to partial dye jobs, Rodrigo's medley of throwback moments make following along a thrilling ride.
