Between pandemic travel restrictions and their busy work schedules, it was apparently just too hard.
Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor Have Reportedly Broken Up
Dear Reader, evidence keeps mounting that Pete Davidson is courting Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.
The pair have been the talk of the town since Deux Moi—the Instagram version of Lady Whistledown—shared its first blind item connecting the Saturday Night Live cast member to the Netflix breakout star. Since March, the tabloids have been in a tizzy to keep up with the news, posting reports that the couple is “spending time” together in London and New York City.
In April, Us Weekly reported the couple was “still going strong,” despite being separated as Dynevor begins prep for season two of her steamy romance series. “They keep in touch over text and FaceTime. Right now they’re just focused on work,” the source claimed. “They’re not looking to rush things.”
But is there any physical proof of their dalliances? Here’s what you need to know.
The Brooklyn connection: Dynevor shared photos from Brooklyn in February while she was in town filming the final season of Younger. This is proof of absolutely nothing, but fans think this could be when the pair linked up.

The blind item: In March multiple fans reportedly spotted the couple in the U.K., reporting their findings to Deux Moi. “It looked like they were in a relationship and they seemed happy together,” a source also told Us Weekly. “We saw them holding hands and hugging each other.”
The “celebrity crush”: While neither Davidson nor Dynevor has confirmed the rumors, the SNL star admitted he’s dating someone. “I’m with my celebrity crush,” Davidson said during a Zoom Q&A with Marquette University students in April. “That is all I can speak on.”
The matching necklace: Here’s the most solid piece of evidence we’ve got. During an April appearance on The Tonight Show, Pete Davidson wore a silver necklace with the initials “PD.” We know Davidson has a history of wearing his love for his partners—the comedian has covered up multiple tattoos from his days as Ariana Grande’s fiancé—so this seems like a pretty big hint.
Still, considering he shares the same initials as his supposed girlfriend, this was still not enough to go on. That is until April 15, when E! reported that Phoebe Dynevor wore the exact same piece of jewelry during a YouTube Q&A.
The media updates: People reported they’re officially a couple. They are “really into each other,” a source told the outlet on April 21. “Pete is telling friends he’s serious about her.”
The pair have finally been photographed together. On April 25 the Daily Mail published paparazzi shots of the pair hugging and enjoying a walk while he visited the Bridgerton star in the U.K. And yes, they’re both doing the hat and sunglasses thing celebs do to stay incognito, but in the photos they don't seem to mind the attention.
Confirmation: On July 3, the pair made their first public appearance as a couple at Wimbledon. The pair were photographed embracing, kissing, and all-around having a great time.
Breakup? It’s possible they were in it for a good time, not a long time. On August 15, a source told U.K. tabloid The Sun, “Pete and Phoebe’s romance was a real whirlwind, and from the start they were both totally committed. But as time has passed, it’s become increasingly obvious it is going to be difficult to make this work…. People can’t just jump on planes and jet around the world when they want to. It has made everything more difficult… Their mates think they make a great couple but the distance has made it completely unworkable. They had fun and will remain close but unless something drastic changes their relationship won’t recover.”
