Ocean’s reimagined Prada pieces are already proving to be New York Fashion Week’s hottest accessory.
Rosalía and Evan Mock Are the First to Wear Frank Ocean’s Homer x Prada Collab
When Frank Ocean announced the debut of his luxury brand Homer last month, it was one of those rare moments of pop culture alchemy that just felt right. And thankfully, given Ocean’s reputation as one of the music world’s most stylish and innovative dressers, his first collection of fine jewelry and silk scarves—as well as the accompanying catalog designed by Tracy Ma and lavishly illustrated with original photographs by Tyrone Lebon—did not disappoint.
As it turns out, however, the maverick musician was only getting started. Last Friday, he unveiled his rumored and feverishly anticipated Prada for Homer collaboration last week, marking his first step into apparel and accessories. The mini-collection, which is now available at the Homer store in New York, features three iconic Prada pieces—the Anorak, Backpack, and Belt Bag—reimagined in four different colorways, marking the first chapter in an ongoing partnership between Ocean and the storied Italian luxury house.
And with New York Fashion Week returning in the grandest of style over the past week, the pieces haven’t just been spotted on front row guests or hypebeasts queuing outside his store on the Bowery, but also on the backs of a handful of Ocean’s most trusted friends and fans. First, Rosalía was spotted wearing the lavender-hued backpack as she rocked up to the Eckhaus Latta show on Saturday. Then, Gossip Girl star and regular Ocean collaborator Evan Mock took to the streets in a double whammy: the anorak in mint green and the backpack in an icy blue. Word on the street is that these may not be the last sightings of the pieces this fashion month, so keep your eyes peeled.
Merely weeks into his first design project, and already seeing his pieces become the hottest accessory of New York Fashion Week? It could only be Frank.
