Case in point: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in New York City today wearing a modern trench coat of her own, and it’s very on-trend for spring.
Instead of wearing a trench in waxed cotton or poplin, the star stepped out in a crinkled red leather style by Bottega Veneta. The shiny material made it feel a lot more high fashion (with the price tag to match, of course. It retails over $9,000). Leather trenches are a huge runway trend this season, having made cameos in the spring collections of Balenciaga, Art School, and Burberry. To give her outerwear a street style-worthy finish, Huntington-Whiteley styled hers with a simple white pouch bag and strappy square-toe sandals, both also by the label. But that coat is the star of the show. It goes to show that an updated material can make a tried-and-true style feel totally brand new again.
