Ryan Gosling Just Opened Up About Eva Mendes and His Daughters in a Rare Interview

Gosling and Mendes are known for keeping their family life private.

Ryan Gosling rarely talks about his family in interviews, but his recent brand partnership with luxury watch brand Tag Heuer really hit home.

In a new interview with GQ  published on October 8, the actor discussed parenting during quarantine. "Our kids are young, so it was a tough time for them to be separated from other kids and not being able to see family and whatnot. So, we did our best to entertain them," Gosling said. "I think Eva and I did more acting in quarantine than we have in our whole careers."

If you're wondering what the hell that has to do with watches, let Gosling continue. "On a personal level, I think about time more than I used to. I have two kids and they're growing up fast. So I keep my eye on the clock more than I used to," he said. "For my first Father's Day, Eva gave me a watch. The brand doesn't matter. The symbol was what mattered. It meant you're on the clock now."

Ryan Gosling met actor Eva Mendes on the set of their movie The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, and they've been together ever since. They have two children together: Their first daughter, Esmeralda, was born in 2014, and two years later, they had another daughter, Amada. They have a track record for keeping their family out of the public eye, but they've given us a bit of info here and there.

While Mendes has since wiped her Instagram completely clean, the actor discussed her decision to refrain from posting photos of Gosling or her children to her feed in March 2020. "As far as Ryan, I'll only post flashbacks of things that are already 'out there' (like pics from movies we did or stuff like that)," she responded to a fan who asked for more pics in a comment. "My man and kids are private. That's important to me so thanks for getting that. Have a beautiful day. Sending so much love!"
