Ahead of the Sex and the City reboot, the actor channeled her iconic character.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s New Look Would Make Carrie Proud
Sex and the City fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming reboot, And Just Like That, which will stream on HBO Max sometime next year. Samantha will be missing in action (sad!), but Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda will all be there—and it seems Parker is already doing some early prep work to reprise her role as Carrie Bradshaw. This weekend, the actor was spotted in New York City rocking a daring look that channeled her iconic character.
When describing Carrie’s style, the word experimental comes to mind: The sex columnist has a penchant for whimsical fashion risks, as evidenced by the time she wore a belt around her abs. Anything goes! Parker channelled this spirit with a bold socks and heels moment: She stepped out in a bright red pump with pink, monogrammed Gucci knee socks to match. The novelty socks instantly drew the eye, but the rest of her ensemble were just as much a statement. Parker layered a printed floral dress (with a lace trim) overtop a tie-dye shirt. This artful clash is right in Carrie’s wheelhouse—as was the sleek camel coat that she finished off the outfit with.
It could just be a case of life imitating art, but perhaps Parker is doing a little method acting here and starting to get into character. If so, Carrie’s TV return will once again be a stylish affair!
