These stars stood out in a not-so-normal year.
The Best-Dressed Celebs at the 2021 Golden Globes
The Golden Globes red carpet 2021 sounds like a joke considering, well, most celebrities were attending, winning, or graciously losing from the comfort of their couches this year. And the idea of best-dressed stars is also laughable, since why would anyone get dressed up to sit on the couch?
But—Jason Sudeikis not withstanding—they did! Zoom or no Zoom, the stars truly made the best of it. The few that walked the actual red carpet made us think it was a normal year, while those at home brought genuine style with designer looks capped off with full hair and makeup—all the hallmarks of a Golden Globes best dressed list were there. The award show also featured stages in both New York City and Los Angeles for presenters and hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, providing even more opportunities for celebrities to make the best-dressed list.
Here, see all the highs of the Golden Globes red carpet 2021 with our roundup of the best-dressed celebrities. (Want more style inspiration? See all the looks from this year's Golden Globes.)
Rosamund Pike in Molly Goddard
Goddard is known as a cool-girl designer and Pike is living up to the title by pairing her frilly gown with combat boots because why would anyone put on heels to sit at home?
Jane Fonda in Richard Tyler
The Golden Globe red carpet 2021 got a visit from a queen, and her icy suit needs no explanation.
Angela Bassett in Dolce & Gabbana
One of few stars to present in person, the icon brought the drama to the Golden Globes red carpet with plenty of feathers, a perfect braid, and some leg.
AdvertisementLaura Dern in Givenchy
A tailored black suit feels appropriate and chic and red carpet ready. Extra points Laura Dern, for bringing back side bangs!
Cynthia Erivo in Valentino Couture
Erivo continues her reign as a red carpet superstar with this neon-green gown and some elbow-length gloves.
Nicola Coughlan in Molly Goddard
Another cool girl in Molly Goddard, the Bridgerton star kept it fresh by pairing the designer's signature frill with lived-in hair and neon eyeshadow.
Nicolette Robinson and Leslie Odom, Jr.
The broadway power couple looked impeccable, but nominee Odom's tan suit, button down, and lime green turtleneck—courtesy of Valentino—might have been the coolest look of the night.
Shira Haas in Chanel
The Unorthodox nominee stunned in all-black Chanel and sleek hair and makeup.
Jamie Lee Curtis in Alex Perry
We're obsessed with the Hollywood icon's lemon-yellow Grecian number with slight shoulder pads. So chic!
Jackson and Satchel Lee, both in Gucci
It should be a surprise to nobody that year's Golden Globe ambassadors have style—their dad is Spike Lee.
Julia Garner in Prada
Garner tends to stick to a slightly retro vibe on red carpets and the Ozark star stayed true to her style at the 2021 Golden Globes.
Celeste Waite in Gucci
The Best Original Song nominee looks modern in a Gucci gown.
Susan Kelechi Watson in Georges Hobeika
The always-cool This Is Us star channeled her inner flapper with this sequin spangly number.
